1. Pine Mountain and Callaway Garden Loop – Warm Springs, GA
This scenic drive along Pine Mountain and through Warm Springs boasts plenty of awe inspiring views. You will find quaint shops and eateries, Callaway Gardens, Wild Animal Safari, loads of history and lovely lakes.
2. New Found Gap Road – Gatlinburg, TN
Ooh and ahh as you and that special someone take this drive through the Great Smoky Mountains. Climb 3,000 feet through towering spruce and silver fir trees. Pull off and take in the breathtaking views, and stop by the Sugarlands Visitor Center to make the most of your date drive. There is plenty to see this time of year.
3. Natchez Trace Parkway – Tupelo, MS
Drive or bike your way through this beautiful, 444-mile parkway that stretches through Mississippi, Alabama and Tennessee. Natchez Trace Parkway is known for its rich American history so it wouldn’t hurt to do a little research beforehand to make the most of your date drive.
4. US Route 6 – Erie, PA
From Pennsylvania’s Great Lakes Region to Upstate Pennsylvania this 427-mile stretch of road is sure to make for a great date drive. This picturesque route was named “One of America’s most scenic drives.”
5. San Juan Skyway – Durango, CO
This 233-mile stretch of highway is teeming with history, views and things to do. This date drive will take you through Ouray Hot Springs, several national parks, museums and along the “Million Dollar Highway.” With mountain peaks soaring up to 14,000 feet and loads of landscape beauty this is sure to be a date drive to remember any time of the year.
6. Pacific Coast Highway – Olympia, WA
US Highway 101, also known as the PCH draws drivers along the California coast. It features hair-raising bridges which connect some of the best coastal views of the state. This popular byway also winds its way through Washington and Oregon. Hop on the 101 along the Olympic Peninsula and you will be treated to great views of the Olympic Mountains, a meandering tour through the Quinault Indian Reservation, and the beauty of the palatial Olympic National Forest.
